Lingua Connections event in Sofia, Bulgaria
The event brought together over 100 participants from a very diverse background ranging from policy makers and educators to representatives from the media and press and networks. The event focused on the role of Lingua Connections, its aims, outcomes, website and publication. Participants became familiar with language project results with an emphasis on success stories from Bulgaria (Linguapeace Europe, BRET, Listen & Touch, Bulgarian for
Foreigners, SHOPLANG, JoyFLL, Read It Easy, etc.) and discussed opportunities and challenges for language project promotion.

Lingua Connections event in Amsterdam, Netherlands
The event entitled 'One way ticket to Barcelona? Innovative language learning in and outside Holland' was meant for teachers of a foreign language in primary education and secondary education while publishers and other providers of teaching material were also invited. The programme offered the participants the opportunity to get to know materials and projects via presentations, stands and workshops.  Directors of the European Platform and the Language Academy gave their view on internationalisation and language learning. The following EU funded projects were presented at the workshops: Staging Foreign Language Learning, Taaltrotters, Soccerlingua, Starwatch, Mission Europe. Participants had also the opportunity to follow the work of some national projects, namely: Tandem Learning, Early English, School hoping.

Lingua Connections at the European Day of Languages
Members of the Lingua Connections team promoted the idea behind Lingua Connections and distributed the Lingua Connections guide to over 200 participants at the European Day of Languages event launched by Commissioner Leonard Orban on 26 September in the European Commission’s Berlaymont building in Brussels. A project fair outside Berlaymont presented projects that made good use of multimedia in their promotion strategy such as: Speech Bubbles, Signs in the City, Hocus and Lotus, Taste the Language, Join the Club, and Fasten Seat Belts to the World.

Lingua Connections event in London, UK
The event brought together over 30 stakeholders, some familiar faces from the language sector but also engaged some members of the languages world that had not attended such events previously. It was a useful networking event that allowed for the further exchange of expertise in a European context, an important dimension in the UK. The event focused on presenting the European context (LLP) and an overview of the projects included in Lingua Connections guide and website. Participants were introduced to the Language postcards and success stories of language projects. A number of delegates commented on the need for advice and were keen for more information on sponsorship, events and commercialisation.

European Lingua Connections event in Brussels, Belgium
Lingua Connections presented its guide to promotion of language projects to over 90 stakeholders from 20 European countries at the Lingua Connections event held in the European Commission (DG EAC- Education and Culture Madou Tower) in Brussels on 7 September. The event, which was supported by the Valorisation Unit of the European Commission, included presentations of good practice, networking sessions among partners that had the chance to present and discuss their projects and the photo exhibition of the project Signs in the City. In his opening address, Director of Culture and Communication of DG EAC, Vladimir Sucha, highlighted the importance of multilingualism in relation to a series of EU policies that went beyond education and welcomed further networking and grass root support in the field.

Lingua Connections event in Iasi, Romania
The event was part of the National Projects Fair initiated by the Association "Alaturi de Voi" (Together) on Corporate Social Responsibility. The event brought together over 50 participants (mainly NGOs, local authorities, businesses etc), representing over 70 projects. EuroEd organised a stand and presented Lingua Connections along with DissMark, Inspire and InterAct, which have also focused their work on aspects of language project dissemination and promotion.

Lingua Connections event in Vilnius, Lithuania
The Lithuanian Association of Language Teachers hosted its 1st international conference on 18-19 June in Vilnius. The conference was entitled ‘Languages in Lithuania: Achievements and Aspirations’. A session on Lingua Connections was part of the event where the guide and online products were presented to over 100 participants. The Lingua Connections session also included interactive workshops on language projects, a language project exhibition and networking activities among coordinators and partners.

The Annual Regional Educational Fair in Iasi, Romania
The event was organised by AIESEC and "Al. I. Cuza" University and brought together over 100 participants including students, university lecturers, educational
managers, NGOs etc. EuroEd prepared a stand at the fair where the
following projects were promoted: Lingua Connections, TOOL, ALL, Face
it! Participants showed interest in the educational projects presented,
as resulted from the discussions carried out near the display area
with teachers and students.

Lingua Connections events in Brescia, Italy
These two-day events brought together over 30 participants (mainly educators and policy makers) from the language world and beyond. The thematic focus of the events was early language learning and the targeted audiences explored opportunities on how to use Lingua Connections as a tool of learning about language project results and use them in their everyday work. A number of projects on early language learning (Lingoland, ODE, EuroKid, ICT Arts, Speech Bubbles, Hocus and Lotus, etc) were presented and participants expressed their interest in learning more about EU action in the field.

Lingua Connections event in Jarfalla, Sweden
The entire team of Lingua Connections presented the guide and website to over 35 participants at the Jarfalla event. Keynote speakers included the European Commission’s representation in Sweden, the National Agency and Ministry of Education and Counsellors from the Jarfalla region. Participants were not familiar with European language products and saw the event as an opportunity to learn more about EU funding opportunities and how to use language projects in their everyday work. Lingua Connections at QUEST in Bucharest, Romania
AGM of QUEST ROMANIA (Romanian Association for Quality Language Services) brought together to this event approximately 70 professionals (mainly teachers, university lecturers, educational managers, decision-makers from ministries etc). The event took place in Bucharest at PROSPER - ASE. One of the guests of honour was Ms.Rodica Precupetu, the Representative of the Romanian Government on ethnic minorities in Romania. Lingua Connections was presented at the event as an example of good practice for language project dissemination. Presentations of projects managed by Romanian partners like EuroIntegrELP and Learning by Moving were part of the event. The event included a round table debate on how projects result could be used and exploited by various and diverse institutions.

Lingua Connections at ICC conference, Stockholm, Sweden
The ICC (the European Language Network) Annual Conference is a key networking venue for language practitioners, course developers and decision makers from all over Europe. A session on Lingua Connections was part of the 2007 conference, which brought together over 250 participants from the language field. Lingua Connections was presented as a good practice for project promotion as part of a session on dissemination and valorization.

Lingua Connections at DissMark, Iasi, Romania
DissMark, a 5-days networking event offered the opportunity to a number of Lingua project partners to interact with each other and meet with top experts in the fields of marketing and dissemination. The event brought together over 70 participants from various European countries including project partners, representatives of the marketing world (publishing houses, local, regional and national media, etc), and national decision makers (such as the NAs) as well as the European Commission in Brussels. The majority of the Lingua Connections partners were present at the event, which offered the opportunity for a first presentation of the Lingua Connections concept and products as well as networking with project partners.
